BEAR

Born October 2000, this border collie lab cross was the cutest, fluffiest little puppy that stole everyone's hearts. He was an early Christmas present for the family and a family venture in training. Over the years he's stolen the hearts of all who met him, and while he was always a family dog, he's been living with Amanda full time since her 2nd year of college.

Bear's had some serious health issues over the years. Coming into Amanda's family malnourished and dehydrated, the vet kept him on IV fluids for a couple of days before giving him the all-clear after being on the brink of death. Around the age of 7, he needed an emergency New Years' neutering as his prostate was the size of a grapefruit. At the age of 14 his gallbladder was about to burst and Amanda and family made the decision that despite his age, he was otherwise healthy (had just jogged 10km's days before), so when Bear gave the look that his journey wasn't over, they drove him to specialists for a gallbladder removal surgery where a wonderful team saved his life.

He's the kindest soul you'll ever meet and was an ever-faithful companion dog. They've been absolutely blessed to have him with them for so long, his time with Amanda and family was truly a gift. Bear passed peacefully on May 23, 2019.
